During 13-15 September 2016, the Networking Meeting of Trainers was organized. The event brought together 66 librarians trained within the Novateca program, including representatives of the Regional Super Training Centers (Super TCs) from Bălți, Telenești, Orhei, Căușeni, Ceadîr-Lunga, Cahul, the National Center of Excellence and Training of Librarians in Chișinău, trainers of Raional Training Centers, the National Library of Moldova, and trainers of the National Library for Children.
Monthly activity plans implemented at libraries at the national, municipal, raional and rural levels were presented as well as achievements and challenges faced were discussed during the event. In addition, representatives of the Regional Training Centers presented the activities developed for different user target groups.
The trainers participated in training sessions aimed at strengthening relations with local public authorities, compiling and disseminating of success stories, effective use of social media to promote the library, modern methods of storytelling using tablets, ensuring gender equality in library activity, computer security and continuous innovation process in the work of a library.
During the networking meeting, a Modern Library mini-dictionary (guide) was presented, including the main concepts on the operation of a modern library.
In recognition of the efforts in modernizing libraries in Moldova, Tatiana Foliuşneac and Olga Burac of the Rîşcani Town Public Library were named the best trainers of August 2016, and Nadejda Coltuc of the Cantemir District Public Library and Vera Traciuc of the Sîngerei Town Library received certificates of excellence.
