Call for Applications

Novateca Program launches a call for applications for an exciting opportunity for innovative and adventurous public librarians in Moldova. All librarians from public local, raion, town, municipal and national libraries, members of Novateca network, with a commitment to being leaders and innovators in their library and communities, are invited to apply to the Library Innovators Leadership Initiative.

The program aims to strengthen capacities and consolidate a network of library leaders and innovators at local, regional and national level. Specifically, the ten-month program will equip participants with knowledge and skills in developing and implementing modern public library practices, including community-based library services, conducting advocacy work with community stakeholders, enhancing communication and visibility of libraries in their communities, and developing valuable and beneficial external partnerships.

The program involves multiple stages, and participation in the full course of activities depends on evaluation of application forms, assessment of periodic assignments, interviews, and progress achieved during and after each activity.

BENEFITS: Successful applicants will have access to the following activities

  • Library Innovation Workshop, an introductory seminar on March 21, 2017 in Chisinau. Information on the venue and agenda will be communicated closer to the organization of the event;
  • Coaching and mentoring – online and face-to-face events and tutorials provided on behalf of the program on ongoing basis;
  • Advanced Library Leadership Program training course, organized abroad, during the period of June 29-July 21, 2017. The selected participants must be willing and able to attend the full duration of the 4-week program abroad;
  • Grants Contest focused on modernization and innovation of the library activity meeting a local interest or need in partnership with community stakeholders. The call will be launched in August 2017 while the implementation period will be during the period of October 2017-January 2018;
  • Experience sharing and possibility to acquire new skills, knowledge and capacities.

The entire cycle will take place during the period of March 21, 2017 – January 2018 and requires a substantial commitment of time and effort from all participants.

In order to participate in the program please fill in the application form and send to Novateca program by March 16, 2017. Based on the application forms submitted a number of participants will be selected to participate in the Library Innovation workshop. Further participation in the program will be determined by participants’ achievements and commitment.
