During 14-16 of February 2017, the representatives of the National Center of Professional Excellence for Librarians, Regional Centers of Professional Excellence from Balti Municipal Library and raion libraries from Orhei, Telenesti, Cahul, Ceadir-Lunga, Causeni, as well as the representatives of National Library of Moldova and National Children’s Library participated at the the Follow-up Workshop on Curricula Development.
The participants discussed the Centers of Professional Excellence’ successes on adjusting library plans, programs and activities according to their specialization on different target groups, the major difficulties in accomplishing their mission, as well as the potential solutions for diminishing the challenges. In addition, the representatives of the Centers of Excellence presented the curricula developed and had a constructive evaluation that also included recommendations for improvement.
"The Workshop gave us the opportunity to share our experience on curriculum development with librarians-trainers from other centers and to receive constructive feedback on its optimization. At the same time, we got familiar with the steps and conditions necessary to initiate the accreditation process,” said Mihaela Potinga, trainer at the Regional Center for Excellence from Causeni.
During the Workshop, participants developed skills in blogging optimization and learned how to conduct an online training course for librarians and efficiently use tablets in order to integrate the makerspace concept into the library.
The next meeting with representatives of Centers of Professional Excellence will take place on March 20-24. The Centers will participate in Training of Trainers and learn how to train other trainers on Curriculum Development.
