The Gala of Modern Library Services presents the most popular services implemented by Briceni Libraries

On April 11 2017, librarians from the Briceni raion gathered at the Gala of Modern Library Services to celebrate their successes in implementing innovative services and share best practices and lessons learned.

Six active librarians from Corjeuti, Tabani, Trebisauţi, Sirauti, Tetcani and Cotiujeni presented the services launched in March and disseminated the successes shared by their communities. The services focus primarily on IT and health and target users of different ages and categories.

“Moldovan public libraries become active community centers offering services that go beyond the traditional role of libraries and meet the needs and interests of different categories of users,” said the Deputy Minister of Culture Igor Sarov.

Librarians from Tabani and Sirauti presented their services on good manners and taught the young generation about the main etiquette rules in the digital era. 16 students from Tabani attend the trainings on a regular basis and create videos about their activities. Another 8 young people from Corjeuti village visit their local library to learn how to create a movie using the Movie Maker application and develop new IT skills by participating in the modern library service “IT Movie Maker: I Can be a Filmmaker.”

The Trebisauti librarian has also shared their successes in implementing the modern library service “Promoting a healthy lifestyle for 50+", developed in collaboration with the local family doctor who trains a group of 14 seniors how to prevent the most critical and common diseases among senior population.

Recently, libraries from Briceni raion have replicated the modern service “Your Job at a Click Away,” which helps users to develop CVs and cover letters using the information technologies available in libraries. The training courses aim to support participants in the process of searching for an online job and increase their employment opportunities.

The event culminated with the awarding of the most active librarians by the Briceni Culture Department.
