The Calarasi Public Library organized Friday, February 15, a study tour for a group of 16 librarians and representatives of local government. For one day, visitors had the opportunity to learn all the details of the project “A chance for all” initiated by the library in partnership with the Calarasi branch of the National Employment Agency (NEA).
Library director Galina Agafita presented the project and its implementation at each stage, the encountered difficulties and challenges, the obtained results, and its impact on the community. Project partners have emphasized the role of the library in the project and in training job seekers.
The partnership between the public library and the Calarasi NEA continues. The library hosts meetings with employers from the raion, provides information and free counseling to job seekers, and provides training in computer and job seeking skills, as well as interview presentation and resume writing abilities.
Through the library, the agency sends weekly updates on vacancies in the district and abroad to the public library system included in the Novateca program. For example, last week NEA resorted to the Novateca library network to disseminate a website where Moldovan citizens who work in Russia can check online if they have permission to enter Russia, the validity of the invitation, work permit, and license employment, as well as the reason for being denied entry in Russia.
