Readiness meetings in the regional centers of Balti, Calarasi, Causeni, Comrat, Leova and Orhei are introducing librarians across Moldova to Novateca, the program goals and intentions, and the online application process which will select libraries to be part of the Novateca network. The meetings introduce librarians and LPA to Novateca’s vision for a modern library, and share examples of libraries developing partnerships with other libraries, local private institutions, and local public administrations for the benefit of libraries, librarians and, importantly, the development their local communities. Novateca aims for libraries to become community centers across Moldova, offering information and services to citizens from all walks of life.
The meetings serve to encourage libraries to apply for Novateca and explain in detail the application process. Novateca will select approximately 300 libraries in this first selection round of the national program. Local libraries must apply to their raion library, who will then apply to Novateca using an online application process. More information on the Novateca application process and application materials can be found here at http://aplicare.novateca.md.
The regional meetings also serve to introduce in detail the online system for those collecting and introducing application on the online system. The meetings discuss the important role of the raion library in the Novateca network and how to apply to become a training center. Visit our events page to learn more about upcoming meetings.
