We are happy to announce that Novateca started equipping libraries from the following raions: Hîncești, Ialoveni, Șoldănești, Orhei and Telenești. Soon they will be joined by libraries from Strășeni, Ungheni, Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă, Fălești, Anenii Noi, Edineț, Briceni, Taraclia, and Călărași raion as well as those form Bălți and Chișinău municipalities.

In total, by the end of March 2015, 350 public libraries will receive approximately 1200 computers, laptops and other accessories (webcams, printers, scanners and the necessary software). These libraries were selected in the first round held in summer of 2014.

The modernization of libraries was supported by local governments, which provided funding for renovation, furniture, heating and Internet.

Besides equipping libraries with computers, librarians from these raions received free training on how to use computers and the Internet for the benefit of their communities. These trainings were organized by Regional Training Centers, created at the raion libraries with the support from Novateca program.

Novateca congratulates all participating libraries and hopes that the modern equipment installed in the libraries will lead to the creation of active community centers that will provide modern services and will help significantly increase the flow of visitors to libraries.
