Novateca is happy to announce the launch of a new initiative that aims to support Moldovan librarians in acquiring skills within the fields of PR (Public Relations) and Communications.

While PR is essential in many fields, it is especially important in organizations that offer public services. That is why Novateca decided to create a PR Club for librarians. The members of the PR Club will meet quarterly to discuss different topics regarding the promotion of libraries in communities.

The initiative is open to all librarians of the Novateca network who have skills in IT and are interested in learning more about promoting the library in the community in order to attract diverse members and to highlight librarians' capabilities to potentially improve the life of every citizen in their communities.

The PR Club will provide librarians the unique opportunity to learn more about promotion and PR, to establish new connections and to get to know specialists from various fields of advertising and PR: Public Relations, Advertising, Digital Communications, Media Planning, Integrated Brand Communications, Event Management.

During the first edition of the PR Club for Librarians the following topics will be addressed:

• Why it is necessary to promote the library in the community;
• What is visual identity and the stages of its development;
• The premises – the basic component of a modern library;
• Advertising signs;
• Effective tools for promoting the library in the community;
• The practical part: Creating material for promoting the library by using various programs;

The first edition of the PR Club will be held on 3-4 June 2015, in Chisinau. The librarians interested in attending the PR Club can register by completing the form available on this page. The deadline for submitting the applications is May 20, 2015.
