In July, Novateca organized the first Training of Trainers for a group of 10 librarians selected to join the Novateca trainers’ team and serve as skilled trainers in the premises of the Regional Training Centers created in the raion libraries of Sîngerei, Drochia, Dubasari Nisporeni and Criuleni.
The 10-day training course focusing on “Modern Library Concepts," "IT and Computer Management" and "Non-formal education techniques" was organized at the National Centre for Librarian’s Professional Excellence in Chisinau.
As a result of the course, the librarians have assimilated key concepts such as “modern library components", "models of modern libraries," etc.; have outlined a common vision of the features of a modern librarian and the changes it will generate in the community, have defined the profiles of the library user and understood the mechanisms for promoting the public libraries in the communities.
Similarly, within the "IT and Computer Management" course the new trainers learned the Word and Excel software and created their libraries’ social network pages.
The new Novateca trainers that have graduated the first component of the ToT are:
From Criuleni Viorica Șapavalov și Tatiana Cociug
From Sîngerei Vera Traciuc și Lilia Costețchi
From Dubăsari Victoria Moșneaga și Natalia Ciudin
From Nisporeni Elena Profirii și Rodica Stanciu
From Drochia Lidia Gontea și Silvia Zaporojan
In the near future, the new trainers will receive online mentoring and site visits in order to help the trainers create and delivered professional trainings to rural librarians.
