Library Leaders Advocates Team – Become a Powerful Library Leader Advocate Call for Applications

Call for Applications

Novateca Program invites all librarians, willing to become powerful advocates of their library in the community and libraries at national level, to be members of the Library Leaders Advocates Team. The initiative has the aim to set up a team of library leaders which will build and/or strengthen their knowledge and skills in advocating about why libraries and librarians are essential in an information society and vital to the future of communities. The initiative targets village, raion, municipal, national library directors/library managers, trainers and methodologists.

BENEFITS: The team members will benefit from development of competencies in area of advocacy through a series of trainings and monthly mentoring, participate in the development of the concept of Regional Centers for Training Excellence, take part in a study visit abroad, have the opportunity to produce/print library advocacy materials and participate in regional experience exchanges on best library advocacy practices. The entire cycle will take place during the period of September 2015-April 2016.

COMMITMENT: Participation in a series of three trainings with the duration of three days each, (September 23-25, 2015, November 24-26, 2015, January 26-28, 2016) and monthly online mentoring calls (up to two hours per online call); development and implementation of an advocacy work plan and communication plan based on an identified library challenge (up to 30 working days), participation in a study visit abroad (up to 3 days in March 2016) and sharing of the results achieved during a regional experience exchange (1 day reunion in April 2016).

In order to participate in the 1st Library Leaders Advocates Group please fill in the below application form and send to Novateca program by September 10, 2015. Based on the application forms submitted Novateca program will select a number of members who will participate in the team.
