New librarian-trainers join the Novateca team of trainers

During 18-29 of April, 2016, Novateca held a new session of Training of Trainers (ToT) to help librarians develop competences and skills needed to become a trainer.

Representatives of Regional Centers of Professional Excellence, Floresti Public Library, and National Library for Children gathered at the National Center for Librarian Professional Excellence to be trained on three main components: “Training of Trainers Methodology”, “Modern Library Concepts”, and “IT and Computer Management.”

Thus, 16 librarian-trainers became familiar with non-formal education techniques and the components of a modern library. Participants have outlined a common perception of the modern librarian and its role in the community. At the IT and Computer Management course, trainers learned about the hardware and software components of a PC and created pages for their libraries on various social networks.

In the upcoming months, the new trainers will receive online mentoring and site visits to help them create and deliver professional trainings to rural librarians.
