On August 7-11, Novateca in partnership with the Library Association of Moldova hosted the 2nd edition of the Summer Academy for Young Librarians. The non-formal event aimed to strengthen the system of young librarians’ professional development and boost their leadership skills.

On July 20th the Moldovan Parliament passed a new Law on Libraries that will shape the way people across the country access information, marking an important milestone for the Moldovan library community and the Novateca program. The new law adopts the key concepts of the modern public library, codifying its role in the development of a democratic society.

On June 29-30, 12 library representatives selected to benefit from the Robotics Clubs initiative, launched by Novateca in early May 2017, have participated at the Training of Trainers in Lego Robotics and explored the many opportunities they offer.

Young people in school today will be joining the workforce in just a few short years. With the fast pace of socio-economic and technical change in today’s world, many students are not gaining all the knowledge they need to seamlessly integrate into careers in the most popular fields.

On May 25-26, a group of 20 library representatives attended the Hackathon Follow-up conference and shared the most innovative technology projects developed in this field.
