Libraries and school teachers raise their standards

Better trained teachers mean better educated children. This is a truth wellknown by community members and librarians who facilitated online access to both traditional as well as innovative teaching methods and tools for a group of English teachers in Orhei and Telenesti raions.

The events were organized in Orhei and Telenesti raion public libraries in partnership with two alumnae of the US-funded Muskie graduate exchange program - Daniela Munca and Angela Trubceac - who offered special trainings to local teachers trying to meet their educational content demand by providing effective access to online educational resources.

Professional events – exchanging experience among public libraries in Novateca network!

Novateca has periodically organized a series of experience exchange events for 8 raions from the Republic of Moldova: in Zaim public library, Căușeni (30 June 2015), Cricova public library, Chișinău (28 July 2015), Sărata Galbena public library, Hâncești (30 July 2015) and Tareuca public library, Rezina (6 August 2015). These professional experience exchange events, attended by 55 rural libraries from the raions of Căușeni - Ștefan Vodă, Chișinău - Anenii Noi, Hâncești - Ialoveni, Rezina – Șoldănești, willing to present their achievements and learn new things from others, had been special.

Novateca and AGEPI signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of intellectual property protection

The Novateca Program and the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) signed today a memorandum of understanding initiating bilateral cooperation with public libraries in the field of intellectual property protection.

Through this memorandum, librarians in Moldova will be trained by AGEPI trainers to meet the current needs of informing communities about intellectual property rights. In addition, librarians will receive information materials for public dissemination and libraries will host events to promote information on intellectual property.
