Novateca Started Equipping Local Libraries with Computers

We are happy to announce that Novateca started equipping libraries from the following raions: Hîncești, Ialoveni, Șoldănești, Orhei and Telenești. Soon they will be joined by libraries from Strășeni, Ungheni, Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă, Fălești, Anenii Noi, Edineț, Briceni, Taraclia, and Călărași raion as well as those form Bălți and Chișinău municipalities.

CONTEST – Educational Software

In cooperation with IREX Moldova, a Romanian company producing interactive educational games for preschool-age children is interested in piloting their products in a diverse selection of Moldovan public libraries that possess adequate infrastructure and equipment.

The Prime Minister, Iurie Leancă, donates computers to Hoginesti public library, a member of the Novateca network

We are very proud to let you know the Prime Minister, Iurie Leanca, donated three computers and printing peripherals to a Novateca network member – the Hoginesti village public library - which serves around 1700 people. The library will be using the computers to meet the community needs as well as to facilitate the access to online resources and communications tools. Developing New Skills for Novateca Trainers Team

The 10 librarians of the Regional Trainings Centers from Ialoveni, Rezina, Hâncești, Șoldănești and Telenești, participated in the two-weeks training prior to the delivery of computers to libraries, in order to ensure that librarians are comfortable with using the new equipment when it arrives.

Began the admission to undergraduate and graduate studies at the School of Library and Information Sciences

To the attention of experienced library staff and all young professionals interested in the field of Library and Information Sciences, we announce you that began the admission for 2014 to undergraduate and graduate studies in this field. The document submission will take place from July 21 to August 2, 2014, at the State University of Moldova, for admission to the undergraduate degree (Level I) and the graduate degree (Level II) for the specialization of Library and Information Sciences.

The Novateca program and the Librarians’ Association of Moldova encourage all interested candidates to apply.
