More than 600 libraries ready for a wide scale revival

Novateca closed the online applications process of the first selection process for public libraries to be included in the Novateca network. More than 600 libraries from over 30 raions across Moldova have submitted their application forms to receive investments of information and communications technology, training and support for librarians in the development of new library services relevant to their communities, and increased engagement with the larger library development movement in Moldova and around the world.

Novateca is on the road!

Readiness meetings in the regional centers of Balti, Calarasi, Causeni, Comrat, Leova and Orhei are introducing librarians across Moldova to Novateca, the program goals and intentions, and the online application process which will select libraries to be part of the Novateca network. The meetings introduce librarians and LPA to Novateca’s vision for a modern library, and share examples of libraries developing partnerships with other libraries, local private institutions, and local public administrations for the benefit of libraries, librarians and, importantly, the development their local communities. Novateca aims for libraries to become community centers across Moldova, offering information and services to citizens from all walks of life.
